Hate the vice and corruption of the judiciary and military? Fine, catch a flight to Tehran, and you won't have to be annoyed by the nasty U.S. military or court system any longer. They'll put your butt in a burka and stick you in a field tending crops. Screw up and they'll stone you in the street without a trial. What's with all the nutjobs that hate the U.S. so much, but live in it or off it (or both)? *sigh* as usual ya all are so used to working out your pet grudges against the government and judicial system that you are missing the point. This is what is known as a win-win situation. The young man made a stupid mistake when he was drunk.. one that didn't really hurt anyone or anything. Instead of letting the kid get a black mark on his record, the DA gave the young man another chance. The kid wins... he gets to go into the military without having the misdemeanors on his record... and though it wouldn't affect his immediate career, it would affect a military career once this series of wars is over and the down sizing starts again. The City wins because they didn't have to feed and house this kid for weeks because of his drunken idiocy... and since he's going to go away into the military they won't ahve to deal with him for at least 3 or 4 years in any case. This is no different than a cop letting you go with a warning for speeding... I mean what exactly did the kid do? He got treated at a hospital for being drunk and stupid and then refused to leave... got a lil loud and told the cop he'd ahve to arrest him.. which the cop did. I've arrested a half dozen college students for similar stupid garbage. *shrug* going into the military is going to do more for this idiot than 5 days picking up trash or 2 weeks in jail, anyway.

The military takes him in for his tour, and gives him what he needs to stop being a homeless drunk, feeding off the system.

i bought 50 of hash yesterday from this woman dealer, she sold decent hash a few weeks ago and for a fair price. shes acting strange about this 50, like i owed her. it turns out to be extremely weak hash and i return to the drug park where i bought it this morning. another dealer is there in her place, one of the more consitent sellers. i tell him the woman i bought from sold bad hash, i want my money back. the guy tells a vaguely apologetic lie about the quality of the hash, asks to see it and becomes agressive. While i am sitting down rolling a cigarette runs up to me spouting phlegm from his snarling, accusing mouth. i tell him to back off and he slaps me upside the head. i ask if he want to break my glasses he says no i want to give you brain damage. i ask if hes going to pull his knife and he asks me to hit him. i kicked his stomach but he easily caught my heavy swiss military boot. im still astounded by his attitude following such a crooked deal. im asking this thug why hes beating up a good customer, he says hes going to kill me if i ever try to buy hash in the park again.

Yup, this definitely falls under the "news you can't possibly use" banner. It reminds me of my daughter, who got out of an assault rap, for bashing a mirror over her ex's head, after he slammed her into the wall. She joined the Army, and the Prosecutor dropped the charges. Then when her ex's trial came up, she could not testify, being overseas, and he walked as well. Now she is home, and doing well. Discharged on a medical, so she won't be called back again. All's well that ends well. I hope this guy makes it back in one piece, otherwise it will have been a bad deal.
