I don’t know where the information came from, or who that information came from. It is not accurate. Some of it is totally false.” Celebrity blog TMZ.com alleges that a report concerning the condition of Michael Jackson’s body during his autopsy is a fake and “completely” false. The site, which was the first to report Jackson’s death, has provided credible accounts of the circumstances of his passing. Both TMZ and the paper purportedly passing on the autopsy claims, however, reported that Jackson had received a shot of the powerful narcotic Demerol prior to his passing. Wrote TMZ: “We’ve learned the story making the rounds detailing the terrible condition of Michael Jackson’s body is a fake.” “A report in The Sun gave harrowing details of the body, but we’ve learned the ‘autopsy report’ was fabricated and completely false,” the site added. Associated Content also notes that “a source told FOX News on Saturday that Jackson was surprisingly healthy, according to those performing the autopsy. The source said that Jackson had obvious facial scars, and bruises from people trying to revive him.” RAW STORY’s earlier report on the Sun’s claims follows. Alleged details of Michael Jackson’s autopsy Friday morning suggests the singer was eating little and had taken pills just before his death. A British newspaper also said Monday that his body was “riddled” with needle wounds probably produced by routine injections of narcotic pain medications. The British tabloid The Sun, which was the first to report that Jackson had been given routine Demerol injections — a powerful narcotic that is similar to morphine — published additional alleged details in an article Monday. “His hips, thighs and shoulders were riddled with needle wounds — believed to be the result of injections of narcotic painkillers, given three times a day for years,” The Sun claimed. “Pathologists found his stomach empty aside from partially-dissolved pills he took before the painkiller injection which stopped his heart.” The paper said that Jackson was “severely emaciated,” having dropped to 112 pounds. The pop legend was 5′ 10″. The paper’s account runs somewhat counter to statements made by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office after the autopsy. A spokesman for the coroner said they’d found no evidence of injuries to the body or signs of illness — though these statements were somewhat vague. The coroner’s office also said they’d found no evidence of foul play. The details published by the Sun paint a particularly macabre picture of a music superstar whose alleged addictions and predilection for plastic surgery had taken a terrible physical toll. Jackson’s face was purportedly pocked by scars, the likely legacy of as many as 13 cosmetic surgeries; his head was partially bald from a scar he suffered while overcoming severe burns as after a mishap from filming a Pepsi commercial in 1984, and he was said to have been wearing a wig. The Sun also reported that Jackson had suffered several broken ribs as a probably result of botched CPR, and that injection sites were found near Jackson’s heart where he’d been given adrenaline shots in a desperate effort to revive him. The attorney for Jackson’s physician, cardiologist Dr Murray, denies that he gave Jackson a final injection of Demerol before he died. ABC News also reported Friday that Jackson was severely addicted to the painkiller Oxycontin. The Sun has also previously alleged that Jackson had been prescribed a “cornucopia” of drugs when he died. Not everyone concurs with the assessment that Jackson had a drug addiction. Hamid Mouallem, a New York internist, told the Washington Post in an interview Friday that he treated Jackson in 2005 and found “no sign of drug abuse or medications of any kind… He didn’t show any sign of a heart problem when I knew him. There were no complaints about that part of his body.” Toxicology results from the autopsy won’t be available for four to six weeks.

I know the guy loved to "fiddle about, fiddle about" with kids like Uncle Ernie; but when some seven year old boy asked me to take him by the house where Michael Jackson was born, it stopped mattering to me. After all, it's not like he's going to "fiddle about" with a forty-four year old now, is he? I don't mean to make light of the victims. But most people won't have to deal with the "fiddling about" outside of news items and our opinions.
