Tied blankets do not a rope make
AZ Central | Submitted by: ZebraBob
"A cab driver arrived home to find his 12-year-old son's body in a courtyard below their fifth-floor apartment, wrapped in blankets tied together like a rope." ... "The boy had learning disabilities."

One less drain on society. Hopefully one less "handicapped only" parking spot.

This is so sad. This poor boy probably never went to Scouts America (or whatever) to learn how to tie knots in rope. How the fuck do you tie a knot in a blanket? All the blankets I have seen are thick wooly fuckers or thin army shit that tears if you look at it. If my father was a cab driver, I probably would of left home at age 14 and joined a carnival. ......oh, wait.

Stupid kid. Everyone knows you cant use a blanket for a rope. Should have used an umbrella as a parachute instead.

"The boy had learning disabilities." Obviously, since his poorly crafted rope didn't work.

I sent this in as well, my headline was:"SPLAT!" Pretty sad, actually. Oh well, Darwin will be pleased.

Blanket Rope Tying 101 Directions 1. Curl your left hand and place it in front of your chest. 2. Turn your head to the left. 3. Try to bite off your left ear. Now for the easy part...

"The boy had learning disabilities." Understatement of the year. Guess he watched too much Cartoon Network. get ready to hear of a lawsuit against the blanket mfg for making a product that was not a rope.

"The boy had learning disabilities." - well, he did learn one thing that night... Isnt it beautiful how nature still regulates itself and watches over the survival of the fittest? Or, in the words of the always quotable George Carlin: "The kid who swallows too many marbles does not grow up to have kids of his own"... May the boy's tard soul rest in peace...

If he wasn't swift enough to consider that to be a bad idea, I don't think he would have lasted long in life anyway.

Why was a 12 year old kid still up at midnight? After dad told him to go to bed? My guess is step-mom didn't want him, hell maybe even suggested the 'blanket rope' to him...

Let's see: Superman capes with the safety label "Warning, Cape does not allow wearer to fly!" - A label lampooned mercilessly in "Hot Topic" but at least it didn't seem to be on the latest batch of kid Superman Suits... Phone Cords: Those kill a few people yearly, going down drasticly thanks to Cell Phones... Hulk and Thing gloves with warnings not to strike people or objects wearing them. Hmm... Anyone read Steven King's "Eyes of the Dragon"? He used that cliche and did it right...

I don't know whom to sue - the blanket manufacturer, or the authors of comics wherein blanket ropes actually work.

I don't ever remember seeing anyone using blankets to make a rope; however, I remember sheets being used to make a rope.

"the death was not suspicious. The boy had learning disabilities" Oh yeah.. that sums it up all right.. Isn't that about like saying "Why investigate it any further? The world needs fewer Dyslexics and Achromats anyway." What I think is that he kid hadn't been allowed to watch enough Jackie Chan / Owen Wilson movies.. or he would have remembered to pee on his blankets before using them. Maybe that's his learning disability: overbearingparentitis.
