Rhode Island's Unharrowable Indoor Lovecraft
Providence Journal | Submitted by: ronin thugzzz
"To understand how Rhode Island became the only state in America to decriminalize prostitution, you have to go back to the mid-1970s, when a powerful politician and devout Roman Catholic named Matty Smith helped advance the cause of a former prostitute named Margo St. James. In 1980. St. James played a role in Rhode Island’s decriminalization of prostitution. “We tried Massachusetts. California. Hawaii. Florida,” she recalls. “Most of them didn’t get anywhere.”

I'm sure there's scores of men who've passed through RI over the years who shouted out every name in the book other than his, but are blue-ball free and deeply indebted to this great great man.

Wait- what? Down at the bottom there, the very last line of the article, they're saying "2009: On May 13, the House overwhelmingly passes bill to criminalize all prostitution. Bill now pending in the Senate." What in the Hell, people? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Rhode Island Rottenneers, contact your legislators and tell them to keep prostitution safe, legal and inexpensive.
