It's nice that screeners are catching SOMETHING.. it's unfortunate that it is just drunk pilots every few years and not actual weapons being put on planes.

Pilots think they belong to a higher scial elite, acting like doctors when they are little more than retarded bootblacks.

Fuck you, flyboys.

93 year old man plows over pedestrian and says I wasn't aware that I did something wrong, cops let him go.
Pilots show up with alcohol on their breath and a $5 an hour moron rats them out to Johnny law and they get prison?
WTF, I want off this spinning turd!

"The pilot was not arrested and no breath test was done, but the airline suspended him pending an internal investigation. The Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating."

Let's see. The word of an airport rent-a-cop with no evidence and no arrest. Yeah, some lawyer is going to have lots of fun with this one in court. With no evidence, it could have been mouthwash or cologne that the rent-a-cop was smelling.

rent-a-pig was smelling the fermenting gleet on his own moustache.

Dude, I totally sympathize. Flying for hours sucks.
That's why you fly Air Xanax. No alcohol smell, and if they call attention to your behavior, you just tell them you're sleep deprived--and you have a good lawyer.

Wow -- THREE DUI pilots at a massively busy airport in THREE YEARS?!

This alarming trend has got to stop!

Claiming sleep deprivation (fatigue) is no excuse. Even truck drivers are taught to recognize early stages of fatigue, how to combat it and they're not allowed to drive while fatigued, I assume it's worse for pilots.

For clarification, I was speaking for us plebians who fly business class, at least for the sleep dep. part of the comment. I certainly doubt that someone who couldn't stumble their way to the terminal would be allowed to fly--I merely understand their predicament. Flying sucks, plain and simple.

P.S.: Flying sober sucks.

Come on, in the old days the company bought the first bottle on every coast to coast!! With all the automation all he had to do was be smart enought not to shut off the auto-pilot.

I worked in a bar (in Barbados)where pilots and trolly dollies would drink all night and sing karaoke, only to discover that on many occasions they were flying the next morning. I'm talking the entire crew of a 747 off their heads at 2am with a flight at 9. Needless to say I would rather swim than fly.
