A man's man. <sarcasm is intended for those of you with only double digit I.Q.s>. I spent more time on the explanation than I did on the lame ass joke. Must be because I'm working under government contract.

Same shit happened to me a few weeks ago. Some shitty skier ran into me from the side and then her father wanted to fight me. I just told him to go fuck himself and rode off. Most people don't know how to ski for shit. They turn in long wide turns because they are pussies who are afraid to go fast.

they should not let postal workers ski.

Teenagers on the slopers are usually reckless morons. Cutting ahead in the lift line, going down the mountain in huge hordes and cutting couples off, hanging all over the lodge, etc. It's great seeing rich yuppies pissed off and complaining to the ski patrols about dumb teens but sometimes I'd like to see a few of the kids get knocked out.

Actually having been to steamboat springs, this comes as little suprise. Redneck cowboy wannabe town. On the other hand, hottest girl I ever went out with was from the same place. She hated it their, always said it was full of jackasses.

Daddy's off his meds again. The sixteen year old should have swung her board up his nutsack!

Got a laugh out of that. There's probably a lot more of the story, like playing chicken with other skiers on the hill, kids getting killed, blah blah... The shock and amazement would have been priceless and camera worthy. Too bad the cops were forced to validate her reckless behavior.

"never have I seen anything with that kind of rage in my law enforcement career," the captain said. Must be a sleepy little redneck town if this hothead dad is the worst the police captain has ever encountered.

Lets just hope that a group of concerned witnesses know who this coward is and show him what real rage looks like first hand.

well, witnesses supposedly corroborated the claim that it was an accident, sooo... yeah, he's fucking nuts. he could've just called her a "stupid bitch" or a "reckless cunt", or whatever the vernacular is these days. now he's going to have a criminal record and a reputation for being a huge asshole. he could've just been known as "that one guy who called that one girl a cunt".

If the sixteen year old were my daughter, this buttcrust of a dad would have a serious ass kicking when I caught up with him. Then my daughter would have a free kick to his nuts if she wanted. (and she would)

As a lifelong skier, I can say I never went back (okay, nordic's allright) once my brother became a pro snowboarder about 12 years ago. Free shit, fewer 'snow-sticks' to lug around, better boots and more fun per unit area of terrain, nevermind the extracurricular antics. Skiers suck. I went to a 'free day' at some mountain way up north and as usual it was totally chaotic, but lo and behold, there was a parking spot at the main lodge. So I pulled past the parkingpud mumbling in Hungarian, and started parking. Suddenly and older man pops from a Suburban and defents the spot with a ski pole, saying he was saving it for his buddy. That's not how we operate, so I told him so and pulled into the spot. He smacked me through my open window with the handle of his skipole. I got oout of the car with blood streaming from my nose and mouth and just looked at the guy. He got back into his Suburban. My GF at the time was a winsome tall blond, and when she got out of the car, she looked at the dude in the suburban and asked him if he was going to hit her too. Turned out to be a great day. Bluebird, weed, found all the folks I knew, etc. Mainly these days I prefer to hike the ski mountains' backcountry with a big pink plastic sled and the dogs. Fewer synthetics and attitudes. My wife's water broke the night before last at 0230. Home collecting shit and of course peeping into this box of difficult truths and hypothetical imperatives before I head back to the hospital. Love, Popo

hey shit happens when you ski or snow board. but i almost kicked the shit out of this guy for letting his 9 year old son ski back and forth in the middle of a very dangerous hill. its a fucking miracle i saw the kid, and stopped in time. or you would be reading the headlines, "NINE YEAR OLD IMPAILED BY PASSING SKIER".

Teenage snowboarders are like teenage drivers, they SUCK. Colorado ski resorts are insane. Way too many people on the slopes and the boarders and skiers have a feud going. Every year it seems some kids kills someone by smashing into them while snowboarding. Every time you hear "it was an accident" and the skier is dead and the boarder gets a little slap on the wrist. I agree this guy should be beaten within an inch of his life for hitting a teenage girl but when you see the mentality of your average teen snowboarder it's hard not to sit in the trees with a rifle and scope and start cleaning the gene pool.

Last time my wife's water broke, she had the baby in an hour after trying to bite my nuts off, just got my leg though. G'luck with the new baby stuff. It gets real hectic for awhile, especially for the mom with all those hormones going all over the place.

Ooh! Congrats, Papa Popo, and good luck to both of you! Remember: hold her hand unless she tells you otherwise, don't eat or drink anything in front of her, and for the love of Christ, don't watch what's going on down there-it's not pretty.

WTF!? Birth announcements on Rotten? Anyhow, dumb ass kids board around like the idiots they sprang from. Oh, and don't hit girls, dumbass. Report her and get her tossed out, losing the pass is about the only thing that would make an impression on the "ME" people. Remember kids, ski in control, or ski out of bounds.

Argh, here we go with the "snowboarders are all crazy, mean, stupid, whatever" shit. If you get cut in front of by a snowboarder in the lift line, you probably wern't moving forward like you should have been. Next time talk about your latte or your new purse or whatever on the chair instead of the line, and pay attention to when its time to move forward. You hold us up, and we'll go right around you... If you get mad about people passing you or cutting in between people in your group, consider how much of the mountain you're probably taking up with that stupid slow and uneven criss-cross line inexperienced skiers always cut. Maybe you should learn how to ride before going down the diamonds, hmmmm? If you smell the ganja coming from the chair in front of yours, be happy you're at a ski resort and not stuck in traffic behind a car full of vatos blowing blunt smoke out the window. And remember obnoxious little shitheads are just that, no matter if they're one or two planking it. I know plenty of rude, arrogant, and dangerous little fucks who ride twin tips.(or those gay little ski blades) As for this story, one inexperienced rider hit another. No other explanation is neccessary. No excuse is possible for the fathers reaction. All I'm going to say is he's lucky it didn't happen in front of me or the guys I snowboard with, or we'd be riding down the hill on his big fat ass.

Dear Popo Congrats! When I thought my waters had broke, I wasn't sure. So I made my husband go and sniff it! He said he wasn't sure, so we went to the hospital. It seems that I had wet myself! LOL!! However the contractions were so close together they kept me in. Hope it all goes well for you. And remember - when she swears at you, says she never wants you near her again and crushes your hand, it is only the pain talking.

Congrats, popo! canadagirl is right about the things going on down there not being pretty. The most important thing, however, is that you are there - not only to support her but also to experience the birth of your child (I'm assuming this is your first one.) Yeah, I know...sentimental schlop. Can't help it.
