Another charming psychopath at large. Next thing you know he'll be working as a lobbyist in D.C.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. With it being Texas, he was probably on death row for jaywalking.

Now, to make everything balance out, they gotta lock up and execute one attorney.

Looks like he had a lot of help. Someone supplied him with clothes and an official-looking Attorney General's office ID. Looks like someone possibly had a truck waiting to pick him up when he walked out, too.

...at least this is the initial info...

Good chance the guy was innocent, anyway, knowing the texas moron juries. Don't worry, texas there is a lot more innocent people for you to kill.

See, we allow these human pieces of shit to hold out on appeals when it truth, when found guilty, instead of the option of appeal, we should give them a last meal, nothing good like lobster or something of the sort, thats' just a waste of good food, take them out when they've eaten their meal, and execute them real slow. I just don't see the problem with that. For instance, scott peterson, he deserves to live? O.j. Found innocent yet in a civil suit found guilty? We all know that nigger did it. weird. execute that nigger too. then theres' micheal(kiddie licker) jackson, he should be executed just for the accusations alone, but we allow these people to live and breath on a planet they just aren't worthy of. What ever happened to the good ole days when you fed the scum their last meal, took them out and hung them in a public execution. Legalize video taped execution and don't give them time to enjoy life in any way what so ever...

Peter, Peter, Peter....

Did you hope to rile us up? I am certain you are thrilled to see me responding to you since your little pig squeaking is begging for attention.

But come on. You have to do better than that. OJ who? I am sure there are countless other people that you apply that monicker to (like your landlord) who could be a better example of justice not served.

Never mind the fact that we spend more money to kill people than it would ever cost to keep them in jail for the rest of their lives. Never mind the fact that death row inmates are currently being exonerated one after the other because of DNA evidence.

But thank you for showing us all just how small one small little man can be.

Man alive I love to witness a good smacking around!!. Ha, ha, piggy peter - he certainly showed you. Any witty comeback or are you just gonna cower in the corner with your curly tail tucked between your hamhocks?

The death penalty is right up there with the War on Drugs - an abject waste of time and money and ultimately quite futile and useless.

Still, it was a clever escape.

I know a few cops/deputies ... ( some even private security firms ) that do guard duty at different jails. I know of none in Texas , but here in New Mexico , and Arizona ... there are 3 types of people that do guard duty at jail. Rookies , those about to retire , and those that are sent there for punishment. ( I know there are exceptions , before someone jumps on me )
I'm surprised that this don't happen a dozen times a day.
There was a magazine a long time ago that showed a photo of the fake ID that someone used to escape jail , (I wish I could remember for sure , I think Life , in the late 70s) ... 4 (?) people used that photo , with a little jail house know how ( it was full size ).. and they left.

My Two Cents ... Laughing & Sending this story to my Brother in Law ( He's doing guard duty for a fuck up in AZ )

Hey Lordgoodking, it cost about $10,000 to execute a prisoner. It cost an average of $35,000 a year to take care of these losers. You do the math and see which way is cheaper.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

It's the automatic appeals, some of which can go on for months, with all those attorneys, both the ADA's & the Defense making two to eight hundred dollars an hour. That's right an hour, now you do the math. The average execution takes around 12 years from conviction to execution, & counting the automatic appeals, provided by law, costs a couple of million smackers. Now throw in the extra appeals, based on new evidence(DNA), & some of these cases go all the way up to the Supremes. These cases may run as high as a hundred million dollars, all things being counted. That 8 bills an hour adds up pretty fast you know.

From: pontiuspilatus [Pontius Phallus Pilatius]
Date: 4-Nov-2005 15:44

Talking about maths, calculate how many people have been executed being totally innocent. Good job.

Believe it or not I am against the death penalty. At least the way it is set up now. Rich defendants rarely get it. Poor whites and blacks are the ones receiving this punishment. If you factor in the police and all their mis deeds, the court appointed attorneys who sleep thru trials and the lack of money for defense forensics experts,it is a slam dunk for the prosecutor.

If the playing field were leveled and dna tests required ,I would be more in favor of the system.

CNN is doing a report as I type. They are saying that the guy has a hit list. They described the escape as a comedy of errors. Apparently he just kept his court clothes, & waltzed on out the door. He was in the County Jail for a court appearance. He did not escape from the maximum security prison. He told the Deputy who was escorting him that he was late for a meeting. From: piscivore [Michael C. Scott]

That bullshit about it costing more to execute a perp than incarcerate him for life is just that: bullshit. The state would be paying those public pretender lawyers these goofball killers get ANYWAY. They're state employees. They get paid even if there are no criminal cases, just like firemen get paid if there are no fires and cops get paid if there are no arrests. It costs the state ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in legal fees for a death penalty case that it wouldn't be spending anyway. All these dead niggers and white guys with the middle name "Wayne" are free.

That said, I'm mostly against the death penalty for the most part, but I'm against it because I know firsthand that cops will lie under oath on the witness stand. I say I'm mostly against the death penalty. I think public officials who lie under oath should be executed by being fed to starving rats.
