Bush has taken so much power away from congress, it's ridiculous. Congress is the figurehead now, designed to give the illusion that we still have a representative government.

Bush does what he wants, when he wants, and Congress is too spineless to do jack shit about it. We don't live in a democratic republic anymore. We live in a corporate-controlled oligarchy. And by definition, a capitalist state that is so firmly enmeshed with big business that the two are inseparable is a Fascist state.

It's a softer, gentler Fascism than Hitler/Mussolini Fascism, but thats where our country is going...indeed, that's where it's been for a while. We have our short list of rights/privileges (emphasis on the latter) and that's it.
