German Kevorkian Presses Reform

"Earlier this week, Roger Kusch, a German campaigner for assisted suicide, admitted publicly that he'd helped a 79-year-old woman from the Bavarian city of Wuerzburg after she'd decided to commit suicide... Kusch said he actually left the room after she drank a poisonous brew, which contained the anti-malaria drug chloroquine and a sedative called diazepam." [Story continues that most Germans seeking assisted suicide go to Switzerland, where the practice is legal.]

I don't know about using anti malarial drugs? Shit, just an OD of diazepam (Valium) should do the trick with a couple mugs of German beer. Why do people have to make shit Sooooooooo complicated? Either that.. or a new german idea for these modern times.. inhaling oven cleaner fumes in a high school shower room. The Juden way.

<<...many Germans among them, are said to have traveled across the Swiss border to find help to end their lives.>> So these people traveled to Switzerland, why? Aren't there any tall buildings or bridges in Germany? And certainly there are train tracks that they could use.

RE, it's a little hard to push your hospital bed to the next rails when you can't even get out of it. I'm all for assisted suicide, but my religious friends though...

Hitting the pavement or splattering on train tracks is oh so messy. It's not the German way.

I did notice the article mentioned an old woman as the "patient". Almost all of Dr. Kervorkian's clients were women as well. Unhealthy old men are usually able to manage suicide themselves, typically by hanging or shooting. Even among teens, this pattern holds; girls are ten times more likely to "attempt" suicide, while boys are ten times more likely to succeed. Something tells me that the German parliament and courts are going to be a bit leery of letting German doctors snuff people.
