AWWW Let the poor asshat try. If I was jailed for life, I'd like to pretend there was an easy way out too.

Hey you never know. . . he might obtain some mirrors and then he'll really be able to escape.

I used to work in a magic shop. I designed the catalog, so I had to read the books and write blurbs on them before I did the page layout. First of all, from my experience, magicians are dumb and get off on tricking other people. Also, their spelling and grammar is on par with that of the average poster here and they don't seem to be very into hiring editors. Secondly, and more pertinent, everything is set up beforehand. If you're escaping from something, you're prepared. Either you made the container yourself or manipulated it, or had keys/picking tools with you before you went in. It is very easy to hid a small packet on your person and hide it somewhere in the cell before being searched. I guess a particularly ambitious prisoner could machine a set of picks (there are books that say how to do this), but I'm not sure if the kinds of locks in use at these kinds of places (I've never been) are pickable.

As absolutely dumb as I think this is, I could care less if some convicted felon can't read up on his hobby.

I think he should be given the chance to aquire the the magic books with the outside chance that he may indeed make his asshole disappear by the time BUBBA gets there. Or should have picked magic before murder as a hobby in the first place.... see some times you don't get the first chance to make a second impression! (IMHO)

Like some fucktard is going to escape by reading HarrypussybuttholePotter...jeeezz...I was born at night, but not last night...next! Harry Houdini, not Harry Potter. I do find this relevant to the subject of incarceration, since there are not many legitimate applications for excapology skills in most maximum-security prisons.

Escapology? This is a real word? Well I'll be hornswoggled! As for reading material that might help him actually get out, I suggest Zen Buddhism.....it's been rumored that some Tibetan monks imprisoned by the Chinese have simply disappeared from their cells and have shown up hundreds of miles away spontaneously. Hey, stranger things have happened....

Maybe the guy wants to learn magic to make the big hairy guys named tiny get their dicks out of his ass crack. A spell on the old sphincter just may be the trick to dissuade those pesky ass rammers.

What's the difference between prison and the outside World? Not much really. Not much.

Escapology? This is a real word? Well I'll be hornswoggled! I imagine you could just add the suffix "-ology" to any subject that can be studied to make a real (albeit silly-sounding) word. As for reading material that might help him actually get out, I suggest Zen Buddhism.....it's been rumored that some Tibetan monks imprisoned by the Chinese have simply disappeared from their cells and have shown up hundreds of miles away spontaneously. It's also been rumored that practitioners of Transcendental Meditation can hover in midair, that the universe is only 5000 years old, and that L. Ron Hubbard is an omnipotent deity. Personally, I'd take tips from folks who have actually been documented escaping from locked prison cells. Hey, stranger things have happened.... Stranger than breaking all known laws of physics through sheer willpower? OK, I'll bite. What things?

Normally I'm all for freedom of information, but I can't see any legitimate reason for this guy to learn how to pick handcuffs or break out of steel cages.

This is stupid. First, how are you going to smuggle the Elephant and the beautiful female assistant into your cell in the first place?
