"They're still on my ass! He's going to ram me!"
Rocky Mountain News | Submitted by: anonymous
"I'm going about a 105 (mph)," the officer said as he headed eastbound on Interstate 70. ... "These guys are armed and dangerous," the undercover cop chimed in. "Any help with me?" he asked. ... "It's impossible to call out (a street name) because it's like farm country over here."

Probably not first. So, did Mr Undercover use any of those driving skills, or that gun, he's supposed to have as an officer?

Uh? Why didn't he shoot them when the rammed his truck? Or if he had no gun he could have tried to hit them in the head with his camera or maybe a radar gun? LOL

Instead of being stupid and trying to outrun them, why didn't the cop just hit the brakes and let them smash up their truck in the process? Then he would've been able to get out and arrest them easier. Oh wait, it's a cop, I forgot, have to fail an IQ test to be one. Never mind.

Oh come on, these guys were dumber than snake shit, especially the ones who joined the chase after the fact. It's like they all wanted to get themselves busted. Shit, maybe they did.

How pissed is the owner of the silver Dodge, especially if he only had collision insurance?

This isn't a movie, you just don't drive down the street guning down "bad people." If a stary bullet were to hit a innocent person old Denver PD would get in a lot of shit. Also if they shot at the person chasing them and they crashed you know who is going to get lawsuits up the ass. Yeah these thugs had there fun...Now there facing trail without bond...because of the risk of them out on the streets... and they'll go to prison for a long time..hope it all was worth it!

I miss the days when you actually had a shot at outrunning the cops. Good times, my friends, good times.

1 undercover cop with a pistol vs. Multiple suspects with unknown weapons... he did exactly what he should have done and evaded until he got help. This isn't the movies, boys and girls... you can't shoot accurately from a moving vehicle.. especially when driving Now as for slamming on the brakes and letting them wreck out into his rear end and then arresting them... uhh.. that is probably not the best course of action. 1 he is still alone... 2. there are still more of them than him... 3 He's more likely to be hurt than they are... whiplash is a bitch and it is harder to brace for a rear collision than a frontal one. 4. Because of 1, 2 , and 3, he'd be dead before the backup officers arrived, most likely. That might work well in the movies, but it is the last ditch effort of the truly desperate in real life. If you are alone and facing multiple possibly armed and dangerous suspects you are either a. an idiot for not backing off and waiting for help... or b. one unlucky son of a bitch to be in the wrong place at the wrong time with no path of evasion. The difference between a hero and an idiot? The hero does something really stupid... and lives. A smart person will be considered neither unless he was unlucky as hell.

Seven guys were there. If he had a 9mm or a 40 cal (more likely) then he would only be able to miss once or twice before he was out of ammo. He did the right thing. You NEVER give any adversary even footing if you can help it. You always want a MINIMUM of a 2 to 1 advantage. As for the owner of the silver Dodge, he can just sue the bastards. It looks like they are going to jail, so he can petition to have ANY income they make on the inside be garnished. Hell, a story here on Rotten confirmed that you can even have someone's Social Security or Disability check garnished if they are in debt to you.
