That's the same cop who ticketed the dieing guy in the street. Man he is sure bucking for promotion, lol. I once knew a cop who ticketed his wife, who came to the Police Station to pick him up during a thunder storm. Needless to say, they are no longer married.

One time I saw an atlanta cop drive off from a bust with a kilo of weed on top of his car. It fell off as he left the scene. I waited about 10 minutes, then figured the proper thing to do would be to pick it up and take it home so that no children would find it and get their dog stoned. It was really good weed, and I figure it helped the poor bustee out too...no evidence, no case. I destroyed it by fire...one joint at a time. Back on subject.....the transit pig=ASS9. Doraville...best country in the city!

It's kind of funny that they'd arrest someone who paid for a token and then sold it at face value. I've traveled on MARTA (whoever said "Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta" was NOT joking), and there are always bums and lowlifes who open the handicap access door next to the turnstiles and "allow" people in and then ask them to pay them back for "letting" them in. Anyone can let themselves in and not pay their fare, as there's no way to tell who's paid once you're in MARTA (no tickets, just tokens), so they must lose more money on that. It's such a subpar rail system that they really lose money on inefficiency and reliability, not this. MARTA is a laughingstock. Really.

If you think this is crazy. I live in the area where they wrestled a pregnant woman to the ground (She was eight months along too!) over an argument she was having loudly on a cell phone! They also arrested a kid here for eating a french fry on a subway platform. The police seem to do stupid things every day. Just some of the dumb choices make the news. We could use the excuse they are only human. But we hold them to higher standards if not pay. I do however appreciate the good work some do. If only more would actually use their damn minds we would have less issues with them as a whole.

So, please, please, please, somebody, anybody, please educate me. Teach me how selling a bus token for face value is fare abuse. Please, however, be forewarned, that most places across the country have similar laws: that it is illegal for unauthorized entities to sell tokens, tickets, passes, etc. The most compelling reason: Because you could have stolen it from someone or somewhere and you might just be hanging around the bus-stop to fence your stolen goods. The actual reason: If someone can't get their fare paid with exact change, then there's a good chance that they'll have to overpay in order to get their fare, and when they do, since the bus operators cannot make change, the bus system gets to claim that overpayment. That's the only way I can see that any abuse has actually taken place. The whole point is that they want their monopoly, and nothing else. If you fail to know your government, your government will know you, and whether or not they use the biblical metaphor will be entirely at their option.
