Don't beleave everything you read this " New York-based Human Rights Watch" is an anti israel lobby group and propaganda machine. They work similar to the micheal moor movies, were they through in a little trueth and then fill in the gaps with lies to make the story meet there needs. This group gets a lot of AP coverage becuse of there amaizing aligations. Watch the HRW and research anything they say. There goal is the down fall of Israel and all that suport them the USA, Australia, canada, and england. If you look at the HRW peices they most always have muslim authers. This is probably a bull shit story like everything else that comes from, of the Newyork based lobby group HRW

I'm not surprised... although I would think there's so much better torture "music"... at least in terms of the amount of pain and/or brain damage it can cause. First things that come to mind are Celine Dion and any other excessively sappy love song. Or maybe those god-awfully high arias from Mozart's Die Zauberfloete (The Magic Flute). Although I have to admit, it does depend on who's being tortured since I do have odd taste music...

I do not know if this story is propaganda or not. It sounds plausable - remember U.S. forces using loud music to try to drive Panama's dictator out of the Vatican embassy? The only problem is that if I was subjusted to Eminem's music for an extended period of time, I would be confessing to being the King (or Queen) of England if it would make it stop. Why did people confess anything at Stalin's show trials?

Then clearchannel has been torturing us for years. Come on, it's more likely the high school drop out guards were doing a little cultural exchange with the terrorists. I was gonna suggest Barry Manilow, but someone beat me to it, so I'll improve it by suggesting the same song, over and over, all day and all night. The guards probably couldn't take that, though, but it would go with feeding the prisoners the same food for every meal, painting over the windows and leaving the lights on 24/7. Fuck with their sense of time by playing games with the meal schedule. The only problem with it all is that I'm not sure what the point would be. I doubt you'd get any useful information out of a babbling wreck.

This was also used at Waco. Personally, I think deathcore metal works much better. You want an "assault of sound"...preferably discordant...to get the desired effect. Yoko Ono would also work at high volume. I guess using Eminem or Dr. Dre might work with the right song, but I don't think I've heard much of anything "hard" from them...so I'd say they were using sub-optimal "music."

The real torture in Iraq was not done with music. The Americans used something even more heinous. Sex! Yes Sex. American female soldiers would dress up in sexy lingerie and taunt the men sexually. This is of course against the Muslim Faith and few prisoners could bear it. Don't know about you guys, but that's MY preferred method of torture. Maybe I'll convert to Islam, just in case. I'm not joking. I read it on the bbc news website. I can't find the link on the BBC from about 8 months ago but I do remember it.

Yup...woman's sexuality and men's. One of the reasons they stacked naked men on top of each other and had them performing fake oral sex is because in the past that has been so religiously taboo that the punishment was death. They're doing stuff that make these God-fearing men believe they are going to Hell...they know what they are doing. On the woman side, I had heard one reported story where female interrogators smeared red ink on prisoners and told them it was menstruation blood. Most old-Testament times religious books have plenty to say about how taboo this is. [msn.com]

Play some System of a Down.Even if they are on the side of the terrorists, it is still horrible; Geneva convention may have to step in. Ciara is also very, very suck -ass. play that and they will be begging for the good old days of jumper cables in the scrot. Country music may also be cruel, but since they also are toothless livestock fuckers it may not bother them as much. BTW, Abu Gharaib isn't even close to torture. ...aside from hours of stress positions in hot/cold climates, food deprivation, and water-boarding it wasn't physical torture (there are even reports of mock executions, but those typically get prosecuted since they are in clear violation of the Geneva Conventions). There were also a lot of Abu Graib photographs we were never allowed to see. Most of it was mental torture. Forcing Muslim men to violate the core of their religion. Most Christians here in the states wouldn't be so affected by similar tactics ("Eat this shellfish, infidel! Oh...uh...you're not Old Testament, eh?")...so it's harder to understand how effective this is. Interrogators know it. They know that they are condemning a man to death or Hell in the prisoner's eyes when they do this stuff.

Well I'm willing to play devil's advocate here. I am against torture in all forms and against all living beings (well maybe for the exception of my last future mother in law - take away her credit cards and just listen to the old cow howl). However being a US detainee just has to be a cake walk compared to the horrors these guys may've face if they were thrown into one of their own country's prisons. I'm not discounting that its wrong to terrorize somebody with an attack trained dog (by the way middle easterners consider dogs to be very 'unclean'), or socking them, or piling them up like a stack of griddle cakes sans syrup & butter. It is wrong. Just don't be fooled that this is the first time torture has ever been administered by US institutions.

One of the posters above mentioned that sexual humiliation of Muslim men would have them believing they're going to Hell, and that jogged something loose in my memory just now. One of the main rebel groups in Algeria, responsible for atrocities that would make Jeffrey Dahmer vomit, is composed of Muslim fundamentalist Satanists.
