I really don't care that this yob got six years for killing a girl and plowing into a bunch of kids ... I expected an ASBO and some communuity service ... but it riles me that they wasted a perfectly good suit on him. IMO, defendants should be forced to wear at trial what they were wearing when they were arrested.

Not 45, 46 or 48 mph but, by George, but a precise 47 mph. (!?) Another amazing 'fact': "To try and avoid the car, he applied significant steering to the left" said Mr Jackson. "This caused the car to rotate around clockwise...". Either the French cars respond to a contrarian set of Laws of Physics, or the Brit clocks run backwards. An abrupt left steering input might start an oversteering condition and counterclockwise slide/spin, but hardly a clockwise one. The dude is a prosecutor?

I say an appropriate sentence for Mr. Dumbfuck here would be locked in an enclosed area with the parents of the injured/dead kids. Each parent has a cricket bat with spikes in it. After an hour, the survivors may leave.

A hard left steering input would cause the the nose to attempt to steer inside the tail, leading to a pronounced counterclockwise movement. However if he had been doing a clockwise donut and jinked it hard left under throttle you could get a very rapid and uncontrolled throttle on counter steer clockwise but I doubt he was ass'ing around in a hot hatch on par with a Clio. A 1L at 67hp or a diesel 1.4L at even less does not a hot hatch make. Judging from spec I'd say the little troll was flogging it for all it had and deserves to go to jail for 6 years just for doing it, dead chicks or not.
