Reports suggest Ramaly lured children into his car near their school, near the town of Hail, and took them to isolated areas to rape them... They should behead the kiddy fiddlers here as well. Crucifying him after his head is removed is just a way to show the public, but not much of a punishment for him, he's beyond caring at that point.

What draws the line between justice, punishment, brutality and spectacle? One could well argue that a more secular society, given to moderatism and communal will would lack the 'courage' (?) or at least momentum to enact such a final and fatal sentence. I think that the quicker such a guilty party is excised, clearly the better it is for the community... and the less social cost the continue to tax upon he global 'us'. And yet my principles should resound on compassion, and the intrinsic value of life... I digress, this was meant to be a speculative comment on religion, and the 'power' of right extremism (with religions backing) to enact a death sentance. I suppose at the end of the day, if you want to help someone, ask a liberal, an atheist or an academic. If you want to kill someone, ask a conservative, a fanatic, or soldier.... ...thoughts? -GP

I'm inclined to say justice would be the whole "eye for an eye" thing. Two wrongs don't usually make a right, true, but if the initial perpetrator of whatever misdeed occurred gets the same or similar to what they've given, it's only fair. Punishment would be taking a dog fucker out to a farm-type area and strapping him to a pommel horse so a line of progressively bigger animal cocks can pound his ass into oblivion. Granted, that'd also be overkill and quite a spectacle. I'm all for rapid dispatch if the offender's crime was relatively "clean". In the case of Phillip Garrido, I'm more inclined to say he deserves a slow death in the most painful manner possible. BTW...I consider myself a moderate with quite left handed ideals...except I'm pro killing people who deserve it, and a lot of people deserve it. Holding the hand of a prisoner and screaming about their rights makes me want to shoot the people talking about it. Fuck the rights of a prisoner. They lost their rights when they did their crime. If it was for pot possession, they shouldn't be in jail. Those goddamned violent offenders need to be given the "Braveheart" treatment.
