>> "Zoom from 0-60 mph with the force of a supersonic F-14, take in high-speed >> loops and turns synchronized to a specially recorded Aerosmith soundtrack." Whats even funnier is that jets are pretty lame in the 0-60 department. If they had said from 600-660 we would be talking some G's here. Specially recorded Aerosmith soundtrack = Something from "Rocks".

"A Disney Web site description of the ride says: "Zoom from 0-60 mph with the force of a supersonic F-14, take in high-speed loops and turns synchronized to a specially recorded Aerosmith soundtrack." This is a problem how? Sure, we're talking about some very real g-forces there but it's not really that bad. Those rides are intended for healthy, normal people. When you've got a health concern—whether you know about it or not—and decide to get on any of Disney's rides, you're taking a risk. I feel sorry for the poor kid but people should think about the possibility that they're not as fit as they think they are. Maybe they should make ride-goers sign a waver. Wavers usually make people think about things just that much more... And Aerosmith? What the hell are they thinking? Ugh... that would keep me off the ride.

I went to Disney World and went on the Mars ride. I liked it, but I like that sort of thing, kid dieing, well some people are not able to stand high g-force rides, my girlfriend for example hates them, so she waits for me, but it is sad to have a dad trying to give his son what is advertised as the best of the best to give your children, a day at disney, well, if he really wants to give his son a warm and fuzzy memory, take him out west to Yellowstone, or take him fishing or better yet, GOLF!

I think the kid died from fright when he saw his normally cool ex Special Forces dad rocking out to Steven Tyler. Poor little guy, not even the antics of Muslims with lightbulbs up their asses can cheer him up now.
From: annidez [annidez]

How sad. The kid was probably psyched for weeks about the trip. The dad's a vet, the mom spent all that time worrying about him etc. while he was away. Osama of course will live until he's a dithering skeleton. The Aerosmith part of the story IS kind of funny. But the thing that took the minor grin off my face was that boy died at CELEBRATION hospital. That has to be a Disney creation. Who with any humanity would give such a name to a hospital? Except for maybe giving birth (if you want), happy plastic surgery or the random sex change, there is nothing to celebrate in any hospital. It reminds me of some very miserable weeks my family and I spent in a head trauma ward waiting for either a dead father or a retarded one. Some corporation jackass apparently thinks it's uplifting to play a very sweet, sentimental version of "Rock-a-by-Baby" over the hospital sound system whenever a baby is born. In another situation, I'd probably be sappy enough to get a little touched. But Jaysus, if they're able to kick a man out of the hospital, comatose, when his insurance runs out you'd think they could be selective about where they utilize their sound system. Hearing that little song about birth was crawling with death.
From: coondingee [Coondingee]

Yes Celebration hospital is a Disney creation. But the key here is the hospital is located off of Disney property. Nobody and I mean nobody ever dies at Disney. Yes they have there own police, fire rescue, sanitation, schools, cable provider, and a few other things but what they don't have is a hospital on property so that they can say nobody ever dies there. Conclusion it's still the happiest place on earth, and they will sue anyone that says different.

"Most of the company's recent troubles have involved another ride — Epcot's "Mission: Space," a rocketship attraction that simulates a flight to Mars." "Two people have died in the last year after going on the ride, which spins in a centrifuge that subjects riders to twice the normal force of gravity. Now Disney offers people an option to ride a tamer version of the ride that does not spin." Park visitor: "Well, except for the fact that this tamer version doesn't spin, what are the other differences in the rides?" Park employee: "The one that spins might kill you." Park visitor: "Ha ha! It will eventually reach the point where ALL amusement park rides will be shut down and dismantled over liability concerns. While we're at it, we might as well outlaw any activity that suggests the slightest hint of personal risk -- such as skydiving, competitive sports, even driving an automobile will become a no-no.

From CNN: "No evidence of injury was found, but congenital heart abnormalities were detected which will be further evaluated," the report from the District Nine Medical Examiner's office said. "The cause of death will be left pending until results of additional studies are obtained." So, how do you think Disney will spin this? -- 1) Don't anybody ever ride on this thing again, just because we care so much about you. 2) This was a rare and unusual circumstance, and it will never happen again, so please have fun this 4th of July.

It must be nice to go camping where you live. Here in the tropics it's not as much fun. Believe me, it was Hell. One word: Mosquitoes. Lots of them. No, swarms of them. Little buggers won't stop bitting until you start to resemble a smallpox victim. And in some areas, leeches. *eek! Can't stand leeches. I once when on this camping trip where I was bitten by 5 different species leeches. Thin small black ones, short flat fatty brown ones. Horrible creatures. I had to put salt around my tent from preventing these little suckers from crawling inside and feeding on me while I slept. Bears are not a problem thought. All we got here are sunbears. Small little buggers. So damn fucking cute. But we did had wild bores problem. But the worst are the cobras. They're fucking everywhere! So, I rather much prefer to stay indoors were the only threat I face is 10 centimeter long centipede black scorpions and black widows in my shoes.

It's sad that this family didn't know that the child had this condition. My heart goes out the the family. I know we are on rottem.com but come on people....
