Kip Hawley is an Idiot
CNN | Submitted by: Kip Hawley blows goats (I have proof)
"A Wisconsin man who wrote Kip Hawley is an Idiot on a plastic bag containing toiletries said he was detained at an airport security checkpoint for about 25 minutes before authorities concluded the statement was not a threat." ... "The supervisor called a sheriff's deputy, who checked to see if Bird had any warrants for his arrest, Bird said." [With picture of what an idiot looks like.]

I'm a little torn. Technically an airport terminal is a private place of business. You have freedom of expression in a public forum or your own private property. Yet, the airlines get so much money from the government [I mean from your pockets] that I ask myself the question: where do you draw the line? Since it's funded by public money does it become a public place?

Anyone remember a couple of years back when an 80yr lady got arrested for saying "bomb" on an airplane? People have to realzie we DO NOT live in a free country, an act accordingly. Shit has gotten so gay at the airport... I was detained because my ticket "looked different," (I just got it at the counter for fucks sake.) I hope to make enough money so that I can move somewhere out of the U.S. (don't know where, while everyone in America gets anally probed because terrorist might be hiding a bomb in your asshole. The problem is I've visted a lot of countries, an America is probably the most free. The whole world sucks!

No offense intended dude, but if writing something on a bag gets you detained, and presumably intimidated, what do you think would happen if you "raise the biggest stink"?

"They" are not in a position to pay dearly as "they" are in charge. By the action of raising a stink you'd be in the wrong and arrested.

The time for raising a stink was last election, but what stink raising was done then accomplished not too much.

As for "Dont fuck with my freedom of speech or expression", dude, you have very little left; read the papers on just what is getting leaked.

This is what one gets when they question a powerwhore statist thief.

Powerwhore: One in such a position as to exert control through threat of force over normal citizens.

Statist: One who supports economic controls and planning in the hands of a highly centralized government (USA) and often extending to government industry (TSA).

Thief: In this case, his salary is derived from the monies of the citizenry who were threatened at gun point by the US government to give up said monies (taxes).

I have to say, though, that things like that never do you any good. If you want to protest, it needs to be in a different form. When I was in fifth grade, I had a horrible witch of a teacher who personally harassed me. The day before spring break, in an impotent rage, I wrote "Ms. Terry sucks and so does her teaching" in pencil on an assignment sheet. Right there in class. She saw it and a minor amount of shit flew. Well, it was major when compared with the gravity of the offense. My parents were called and I had to have a meeting with the bitch and the assistant principal.

It has nothing to do with free speech. He was being an asshole, and he was treated like an asshole. An inappropriate action and an appropriate consequence.

Wah, he was questioned in an airport for 25 minutes. Big fuckin deal, they can detain anyone they want for that long, without a reason. Don't like it? Don't fly, charter a private flight, or form private "flight clubs" who only allow pre-approved non muslims on their planes.

What does the average business pay each year in air fare? I bet they'd love the idea of a yearly bill to join a private club, allowing their people to fly unmolested.

'Dude-ette' then. Sorry about the assumption, but in truth I meant 'dude' in the generic sense.

So, potentially anonomyous travel is freedom? Like, driving around in any other country, for example? Support who/what you choose, like, 70% of the rest of the world, for example? Freedom for women? Granted, I can't judge this first person but Europe appears to be at least on a par. You say you have "spent time in other countries", but I can say that being resident would give you different insights, the same way as a tourist in the US would find it different than you do living there.

Freedom is lacking in some places, notably countries under strict religious control, as in the Arab world. However, you might be confusing what you think of as 'freedom' with a lack of any real alternate choice. The US proports to have a multi-party system but the rules have been and are being subtly changed to make it a system with only one real control block that masquerades under different names.

Only an opinion, but I think the real test of freedom is what happens when a little guy, an ordinary joe, runs afoul of the powers that be. It would appear that in the US, the government machine will simply gobble him up. Sad too; the US had such potential. It now requires that you ALWAYS be prepared to defend yourself from the powers that are supposed to defend YOU.

He was stopped, questioned and released.
The people on security wanted to make sure that he was just making a little scene and not something more serious.
When they found he had no warrants or any other reason to detain him they let him go.

I can imagine at the screening checkpoint he had a smartassed little smirk on his face and the screener thought,"I better check this guy out."

On July 14, 1983 the House Ethics Committee concluded that Rep. Dan Crane (R-Ill.) and Rep. Gerry Studds (D-Mass.) had engaged in sexual relationships with minors, specifically 17-year-old congressional pages. In Crane's case, it was a 1980 relationship with a female page and in Studds's case, it was a 1973 relationship with a male page. Both representatives immediately pleaded guilty to the charges and the committee decided to simply reprimand the two.

However, Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) demanded their expulsion. On July 20, 1983 the House voted for censure, the first time that censure had been imposed for sexual misconduct. Crane, who tearfully apologized for his transgression, lost his bid for reelection in 1984. Studds, however, refused to apologize and even turned his back and ignored the censure being read to him. He called a press conference with the former page, in which both stated that they were consenting adults at the time of the relationship (the page was 17 at the time) and that it was therefore not the business of others to censure them for their private ephebophilic relationship, and he continued to be reelected until his retirement in 1996,

Then there's this gem..

Jessie Jackson has added former Chicago democratic congressman Mel Reynolds to the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition's payroll. Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused in President Clinton's last-minute forgiveness spree. Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and-a-half-year federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud & lies to the Federal Election Commission. He is more notorious; however, for concurrently serving five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer.

This is a first in American politics: An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate won clemency from a president who had sex with a subordinate, then was hired by a clergyman who had sex with a subordinate.

His new job? Youth counselor

rectum:

I would tip my hat to you but I just got my hat on straight and moving it now would shift my hairpiece (because of my numerous medications) which takes hours to get just right. Seriously, I agree with you in principle but the demonstrated facts are that not much will change except the name on the secret memos.

Gladys, however, says you are dead on and wishes she could go out with you for drinks. (I sometimes have issues with Gladys, so don't mind her. She has not said much about her life before crossing over, but I think she might have been a carpet muncher, at least part time.)

My wife and I ARE coming to Belgium, "Dillhole". Bastogne in three years or bust. Does Belgium have much of a hot-rod community?
