It works like this: If consumers purchase mad cow beef from Brand 'A', and enough people in their families develop Crutchfield-Jacobs disease, then their food dollars will eventually go to a competitor! Bush is a Texas Oil Man. Besides Oil, Texas also has Cattle. Bush wants Texas to keep on selling cattle, and exporting same. What would happen to the US economy, if nobody bought our beef, because it is shit? So Bush does the only thing he can do, keep it under the rug. Don't like it? Do what I have done for years now, stop eating beef. Even if it doesn't have Mad Cow Prions, it is chock full of dangerous growth hormones, and Lord knows what else.

But I do feel it is much healthier to eat as much organic food as possible.

However, due to the increased labor and reduced output these farms offer, most if not all of them have better ethics than large scale conventional farms. But you are right about water: there are currently no organic standards for water, salt, or dietary supplements.

I just read that contaminated/GMO produce is going to be wide-spread in awhile. All kinds of weird things can happen to us. This was linked to that massive seed vault they're building in Norway. Go figure.
