Just as was getting ready to post in the original thread on this, the Looney Toons cartoon came on with Speedy Gonzalez about how the other Mexican mice get him to cross the border to the cheese factory and bring it back to them. And Sylvester lays out land mines to try and stop them. Oh man, what a wonderful and timely coincidence. Of course, it was because my husband was watching a DVD - they would never show that cartoon these days. Too bad. It was hilarious.

Didn't he say that he wanted to put illegals in a camp and make them do some work? I guess "concentration" or "forced labor" camp is a bit of a bad word these days. Maybe if he said the "resettlement of South American travellers to high density rural housing complexes with the bonus of good working facilities in the nearby countryside" he probably would have gotten more call backs. It's all in the marketing.

The holocaust tied the idea of "concentration camp" and "extermination camp" too closely together, so you can't really use the term "concentration camp" in its original meaning anymore without offending people. That's all the article is trying to say. The Brits invented the concentration camp (and coined the term) during the Boer War, over a 100 years ago. They were originally meant as a huminatarian exercise, but they went off the rails.

My plan involves a butt load of tents, WWAAYY out in the desert. Give the illegals 3 squares and a cot. Oh, and about 16 hours of "re-education" a day. Teach them about how "corrupt" their governments are, some good ways to overthrow said governments, and send them back by the tens of thousands. I bet Mexico would put up a fence then.
