How long before this judge is beat down or arrested? This judge won't be on the bench long.

more than 20 cases in which judges found police officers’ testimony to be unreliable, inconsistent, twisting the truth, or just plain false. The judges’ language was often withering: “patently incredible,” “riddled with exaggerations,” “unworthy of belief.” -------------------- If the judges think they are lying, why not charge them with perjury? They do have the power to do that and perhaps it would make officers think twice before lying in court simply to improve their conviction rate. One more brick in the tower of police hatred that I'm building in my back yard.

In England the running gag is "The defendant was heard to say, 'It's a fair cop.'" It even brings open laughter but no Bobby is ever punished for the lie.

As our esteemed prosecutor said, in our town, when he saw several people countering the official version, "we do not recognize witnesses". Our town has quite the reputation for writing and issuing traffic citations far from said locations and when the driver was operating. The officer was at a desk and the driver was at work at the time.

My parents were Army officers, and when one of the guys screwed up or was even rude to a woman, the other guys in the unit took care of business (usually beat him up or court-martialled). Their polished image was kept up from within and they got respect and power from it.

Well I for one want to know what would make them think this guy had a gun in the first place? Guns are illegal in NYC.

so let's get this straight... Joe Friday had a method of finding guns on random people in the street, based solely on how they acted or dressed. isn't that profiling? "The judge, John Gleeson of Brooklyn federal court, asked the officer, Kaz Daughtry, how successful his method had been in other cases. Officer Daughtry replied that over a three-day period, he and his partner had stopped 30 to 50 people. One had a gun." and besides, is there any evidence in some of these cases that cops didn't plant a weapon on the scene? if they are already going to lie about how they found it, then why not go the extra step and put one there to justify the search? "Over the last six years, the police and prosecutors have cooperated in a broad effort that allows convicted felons found with a firearm to be tried in federal court, where sentences are much harsher than in state court. Officials say the initiative has taken hundreds of armed criminals off the street, mostly in the Bronx and Brooklyn, and turned some into informers who have helped solve more serious crimes." it sounds as though they arrest people they suspect could turn state just to help the cops to convict others, wrongly or otherwise. I'm all for putting violent criminals in the prison system, but to arrest and convict people who are armed in their own homes for protection from the armed criminals in the world seems pretty well retarded to me. the cops are willing to ruin people's lives in order to further their careers and to bring money into their districts by handing out fines to people who illegally possess weapons. now if they cops did their jobs of eliminating the ability of unlawful people to obtain weapons instead of feeling up anybody for a weapon, that could bring a reduction to the need for these random pointless searches. then again, that might just make some sense in the long run.

> One more brick in the tower of police hatred that I'm building in my back yard. Well done. Most of these pigs and judges belong in prison.
