This seems like a very bad idea. It might be used to discredit testimony of rape and abuse victims in court. Screwing around with peoples brains and memories is a very, very bad idea. I don't like psychoactives either. Sedatives and tranquilizers are usually enough to help a victim calm down enough to grab traction. We do not need the medical profession fucking with our brains any further.

It doesn't seem like that pill would be given directly following a trauma event, so I dont' think it could be used to discredit rape/abuse survivors in court. It seems it'd be more like EMDR therapy, like after the perpetrator is tried and convicted, a psychologist would recall the recurring PTSD memories so they are present to the survivor and THEN give the pill. I didn't get the impression that it was designed to be given along with EC the next day for rape survivors.

I don't think they're talking about eliminating memories or even making them harder to remember or in less detail. I get the impression that the function behind it simply helps make the memory a little more "just the facts please, ma'am", a little more like the way you remember everything else, instead of remembering it with a couple of bricks of bad emotions attached. I think what these pills are supposed to do isn't 'erase bad memories' but sort of calm your emotions while you remember them. It sounds to me like, if anything, that could help a testimony, since your emotions wouldn't cloud the memory. Of course, a jury wouldn't be very sympathetic to a rape victim who didn't seem to have any emotions about it.

I would like to think it would be used only for the extreme cases, but one doesn't really know if a person will get over the trauma just after it happened. I think if they could develop it and use it after the normal therapy works then I think the abuse would be less. I can assume though that some people might be better off with a drug like this but not everyone. Is it because black dicks are big? Well not all black dicks are big and not all big dicks are black so it seems to me bringing race into something that has nothing to do with race. Well, I better clarify that flame... I'm sure most ladies will say it's not the dick, but the guy attached to it that counts, and I would agree. I don't think black dicks are better than white (why would I care?), it's purely a matter of taste (pun intended). I just resent the implication that if a white woman has sex with a black guy that "something is wrong with her". Some black women prefer white men, and I believe the majority of Asian American women do. I don't fault any of them, as long as they're happy. Alright, I'll shut the fuck up now.

Not exactly sure why several folks here have suggested this as some sort of maniacal aid for serial killers/rapists/what-have-you... this is proposed as a PTSD drug. Nefarious villain-types and assorted lowlives already have Rohypnol and other pharmaceutical helpers that seem a bit more in line with their aims. Sexual assault/rape victims don't usually turn to their attackers for a nice cup of tea, a spot of counseling and perhaps some medication after the attack to help them work through the emotional fallout, after all.
