Miami Herald | Submitted by: anonymous
"After months of monitoring a couple convicted of tax evasion, all U.S. marshals needed to get inside their fortress-like home was a little deception."

How come the Feds didn't just blow their brains out or burn their house down, like they normally do?

snatchvondrippy [snatch] I've been puzzled for years concerning that sequence in "Thunderdome". "Gulag" means hard labor imprisonment; hardly Max's fate Some definitions simplify the term as meaning "any harsh situation" I guess, seeing that Max was shoveling shit already in Bartertown's underground forced labor methane factory, that Aunty and the townfolk decided against gulag and opted for Banishment. These are important matters, to be sure. Pig Killer: Mister, who are ya'?! Max: No One.... Pig Killer: What's your name?! Max: Nobody...... Pig Killer: No, Mister, I can feel it! The Dice Are Rollin'!

While I agree that income tax as it is set up is illegal, they are the government and they can and will do as they wish. Anyone for a flat tax?

"I'll be honest with you, I thought they were absolutely out of their tree when I first found out what was going on," he said. "The more research I did, the more I found that their position was valid." ************************* Notice whenever this issue comes up that no member of the media is ever willing to take the extra step of researching and explaining just what it is that the perps are refering to when they say that they have proof that the position they are taking is valid...If there is some sort of loophole in the way the tax laws are written, that needs to be explored. Maybe they're right. Maybe this could be an opportunity to re-examine the tax laws and possibly come up with a fresh approach that doesn't leave every hard working american hanging on the edge of destitute. I don't know about the rest of you but I sure am sick of being taxed to the poor house! Especially so they can hand my money over to the shiftless, usless, drug addicted welfare cases that suck the working class dry.

Just because you don't agree with a law doesn't mean it can't be enforced. A rational person would initiate a class action lawsuit and want past taxes refunded if they won the case. Otherwise your're just screwing yourselves, which seems to be the national pastime.

Ah, Waco! Born and raised! Jessica Simpson lives there, and it isn't that far from were Presidents Bush's Ranch is located! I'm so glad I moved away to Florida. Where we're all sane.

Even the Supreme Court has declared [As the law itself does] that the Income Tax is volutary - you DON'T have to pay it! That's right, kiddies - not a penny - BUT, [don't you just love a big but?] you DO have to pay the interest AND the penalties for not paying the tax that you don't have to pay. Blessed be the name. . . Buy ammo while there is cash.

AMERICA: FROM FREEDOM TO FASCISM is worth watching -- there IS no law that requires you to pay the "Income Tax" -- watch the movie online, it's enlightening. How did what was a tax on the very wealthy become 25-30% of the money you earn? WATCH THE MOVIE.

If you don't want to pay income tax, it occurs to me that there are three other approaches available which don't involve an armed standoff with the world's biggest law enforcement agency: 1) Support political candidates who oppose the income tax. 2) Find a lawyer who agrees with your interpretation of the constitution and fight it through the courts. 3) Leave the confines of the United States and relinquish the services that the Federal Government offers, such as infrastructure and defense.

I'm glad they stood up for what they believe are their rights. I'm glad they have supporters, and I'm glad they were peacefully arrested.

The people turned out to be marshals who arrested the pair without a single shot fired. Where's the fun in that?
